Six ANZ founded startups raised money in one fortnight, from $36M at the top down to half a million. Three countries. Figures are as reported.
Gridsight (Sydney). A Series B of about $36M led by Insight Partners. Its software finds unused capacity already sitting in the electricity grid.
Apate.AI (Sydney). An $11.4M seed led by Lobby Capital. Its AI agents pose as scam victims and keep fraudsters talking, turning the call into intelligence. CommBank has reportedly run 2.5 million of those calls.
Neocrete (NZ). US$3.5M led by Wavemaker Ventures. An additive that makes dumped ash usable in concrete, replacing up to half the cement.
Facet Amtech (Newcastle). A $3M seed backed by Main Sequence and Uniseed. It makes ammonia, the base of nitrogen fertiliser, from steam and air in one step instead of a full industrial plant.
Azonic (Auckland). A NZ$1M pre-seed led by Blackbird. It pulls online crime investigations into one platform, with a virtual analyst doing the legwork.
Puntr (US). US$500K for a social sports prediction app built by Aussie founders.
My read
Half of this list is about infrastructure most people never think about: the grid, concrete, fertiliser. That’s where the bigger cheques went. The software end is still getting funded, but at seed and pre-seed sizes. Not financial advice.
